EHS team members recently recognized in JBMDL Team Spotlight
When a fire broke out on the roof of building 678, EHS site-operations team members (Tracy Jarvis, Jimmy Mindnich, Greg Shadman, and Doug White) of the Security, Safety, and Facilities teams for NAWCAD Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst (JBMDL) sprang into action. Solar panels on the roof of building 678 caused a fire, flooding and power outage that required the team to handle the situation with skill and quick thinking.
The physical security team provided crucial communication to the Incident Commander, Lakehurst Police, and JBMDL. As members of the JBMDL Safety team, staff members helped to ensure a safe evacuation, and facilities team members coordinated efforts with other facilities and the local fire department. The Emergency Management Lead coordinated on-site efforts while documenting the event.
Their dedication didn’t end there. With heavy rainfall predicted, EHS team members worked tirelessly to repair fire damage and prevent further water intrusion, ensuring the ongoing functionality of the facility.
The success of the Security, Safety, and Facilities teams is rooted in their effective communication, collaboration, and their “all-hands-on-deck” attitude. The EHS JBMDL team play a vital role in maintaining the safety and functionality of the base. They handle tasks such as informing personnel of safety hazards, managing security protocols, conducting repairs, and handling hazardous materials.
Many thanks and Bravo Zulu to Tracy, Jimmy, Greg and Doug of the EHS JBMDL team for their continued dedication, support and efforts on the NAWCAD JBMDL Site-Operations Security, Safety and Facilities team!
