Strategic Facilities Planning by EHS
EHS Technologies helped a large Navy installation create its 20 year Strategic Facilities Plan (SFP). The installation currently manages nearly 1,000 buildings. The objective was to reduce the overall facility footprint to increase operational efficiency and reduce utility and maintenance costs. The plan included over 50 projects for demolition and shutdown of older facilities to be replaced with the construction of several new technology centers. Included with the 20 year project plan, was a Business Case Analysis outlining the costs and benefits of implementing the Strategic Facilities Plan. Coupled with this effort, EHS completed a study of how the installation could increase security through modernization and expansion of its Electronic Security System network. This corollary study provided cost estimates and recommendations for installing and integrating intrusion detection systems, electronic building access systems and video surveillance at key facilities.
